Playdough Pictures

Kevin bought a play dough kit for Aidan at Costco. The back story is that Aidan had gotten some playdough while he was at the hospital, and he loved playing with it and “putting it in the oven” (the little drawer in his bedside table).

They had lots of fun and an occupational -therapy immersion.
What’s more, these two little ones, who often tend not to get along too well, played well together for several hours. They continued to play with the playdough on and off throughout the day.
Mom’s perspective: Playdough is messy! Oh, well, it was worth it.

I love playdough. They look like they’re having SO much fun.

Playdough is may be messy but is way better than arbitrating disputes between little boys and entertaining them all the time. Looks like they are having lots of fun. (And I bet it’s good for those fine-motor skills.)
My kids always want to paint which is way messier. I only do tempura paints once in a great moon when I have planned to do them. I hate cleaning up after it and everything gets splattered. I tend to push water colors because they’re a little easier to handle. So Play-doh to me is fairly painless. I just pack up what hasn’t dried out and then sweep up the crumbs.
When my oldest was young she would have these terrible temper trantrums that NOTHING would stop until I stumbled onto two effective responses: a bath (she used to love to play in the tub) or if a bath wasn’t possible, I’d pull out the play-doh. It always calmed her down.
You know you’re a homeschooler when you have books in your kitchen cabinets.
I love reading your many blogs. It is good to hear that siblings sometimes don’t get on very well; I too have found that Playdough gets kids playing together no matter what their age.
